The Martin 17 Series is characterized by a Sitka Spruce top, Mahogany back and sides, and a thin open pore Satin finish. The 17 Series is available in either a Whiskey Sunset or a Black Smoke. “I challenged my coworkers to help me with the significant task of modernizing guitars whose origin go back to the 1930s (and earlier).”, said Chris Martin. “As you might imagine, the discussions were quite animated. The Martin 35 Series is characterized by a Sitka Spruce top, 3-piece East Indian Rosewood back and sides. The lighter 1/4 inch bracing enhances the low end response on the guitar. We currently carry the Martin D-35.
